![]() I noticed that the extracted subs are in UTF-8 format, so I guess mkvtoolnix converted my UTF-8 files to ANSI, then UTF-8. I'd like to extract and recode them again to UTF-8, but I don't know what is the real encoding that was set by mkvtoolnix. Now, the problem is that I deleted the original subtitles and the ones from the new MKV file have some weird encoding. In the "format specific options," the character encoding was set to "default" and I think this was the issue, because mkvtoolnix cannot detect UTF-8-encoded files apparently, and you need to specifically select UTF-8. I don't know what's the character encoding that mkvtoolnix has set, but it's not UTF-8, even though they appear in the list as S_TEXT/UTF-8. maybe you can tell me what i’m doing wrong.I've attached a few subtitles to a MKV with mkvtoolnix, but it appears that after muxing, the character encoding is messed up. I compared both files with mediainfo but couldn’t find any differences. I extracted another audio file eac3 as a test from an mkv and imported it into mkvtoolnix, everything works here. then he shows me the message that is not supported. I convert that with the compressor app in dd+ ec3 and rename it eac3. I have another problem with wave to dd + (ec3 / eac3). i google the problem and only finde a post that the problem is already solves. If i use a vm and take eac3to, he shows it to me cleanly as an ac3 file. ![]() I can select general ac3, video or audio ac3 in the settings when converting. When I import the ac3 that I converted into mkvtoolnix, it always shows me audiofile as a video file. Adobe audition unfortunately no longer supports Dolby as export. To convert, I use the compressor app from apple.
